Integration Courses (A1-B1) – Settling in
Are you now living in Germany and want to settle in properly? Then you should learn German! It's important for getting to know new people, filling out applications, supporting your children at school, finding work... You should also know a few things about Germany, its history, culture and legal system. You will learn all this in our integration courses, which we run regularly for the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
Each integration course consists of a language course with six modules (600 lessons in total) and an orientation course (100 lessons). You will learn German on important topics of everyday life (work and profession, housing, health...) and will be prepared for the German Test for Immigrants (DTZ) exam. In the subsequent orientation course, you will acquire important knowledge about Germany. This will also be tested at the end of the course in the “Living in Germany” test. If you pass both tests, you will receive the integration course certificate.
Participation Requirements
To take part in an integration course, you need either an authorization or an obligation (Jobcenter, Foreigners' Registration Office, BAMF).
Participation in the course is usually free of charge and you can also apply for a travel allowance. You can also find further information on the BAMF website.
